Dance Hits
December 28, 2006
You have to admit that once in your life, you danced to these tunes. Perhaps you organized a group to dance for that class Christmas party. Remember the steps? Single, single, double, double, that kind of thing.

Kidswereus picks the following dance hits in the nineties:
· The Sign by Ace of Base
· Trouble by Shampoo
· Sweat (A-la-la-la-long) by Inner Circle
· Ging gang gooly by Unknown
· Lick It by 20 Fingers
· Lament No. 5 by Pizzicato 5
· My Boo by Ghosttown DJs
· No Diggity by Blackstreet
· Oh Carol by Neil Sedaka and Howard Green Field
· Boom Boom Shake Shake the Room
My personal favorite is the incomprehensible Lament No. 5 of the Japanese group, Pizzicato 5. The song goes, “do-doot, dooroodutdut, do-doot, dooroodutdut”. As I’ve said, the lyrics are difficult to understand.

Well, i have at my possession an mp3 of dance hits during the 90’s. It includes my fave “How Gee”..di ba. It was played during our class christmas party. Plus the hottest dance groups like the defunct UMD, we even watched their first and last movie..i recall they interpreted Always (the butterfly dance remember?), Shine, What’s Up (Remix), Close to you (Remix), Stars… and of course the Streetboys who interpreted dancefloor top charters like 100% pure love, the bomb, the song “it began in africa”…i forgot the other titles and also the maneouvres with their japanese dance…plus rap music was also a hit from Francis M, Andrew E, Rap Asia, among others.

Hey! I think the song from Ghosttown Djs is supposed to be My Boo. I used to dance to 8 out fot he 10 songs mentioned. Yeah when I was grade 5, we had to dance the A-la-la-la-la-long song for my friend’s birthday party. Imagine we had to go to her house every Saturday afternoon and learn all the steps. I even remember we danced “Stay a little bit longer” I’m not sure if that was the title of the song.

Ooooh yes! The ever-so-famous “single single double double” dance step.. Grade school days oh gosh.. Haha.. I remember that one other dance step my classmates & I always did back in grade school.. When we’d all line-up and like shift our weights in alternate sides (sorry it’s really hard to put it in words…) Oooh and you know when you can do the back-bend or a simple cartwheel, you become sikat na especially in dance performances.. Hahah!

Shucks…I forgot to add the Macarena and Sha-lalalalala *clapclapclap*
Justine–I couldn’t do the back bend in grade school but I did manage the cartwheel.
