Mighty Mightor
Hi guys! Naaalala nyo pa ba yung cartoon na Mightor? It was one of the shows na pinapanood ko during sundays on RPN 9 (or was it IBC 13?!? not sure, basta isa dun sa dalawa). It basically follows the adventure of an ordinary caveman, Thor, and his pet dinosaur, Og. They transform into superheroes through the use of a club –he raises his club and shouts “Mightor”, and then they change na. Hehe. (Kinda reminds me of Captain Barbel though, pero si Mightor may sidekick!).

Little Miss Philippines
This clip’s not from the nineties, forgive me! But I couldn’t resist posting it here because it showcases Aiza Seguerra during her cutesy-patootsie days before she was able to get a stint at the noontime show, Eat Bulaga. She was able to begin her career in showbusiness by joining in the defunct kiddie pageant called ‘Little Miss Philippines’.
Here’s a confession: I had a silly dream of actually joining in Little Miss Philippines! I went up to my grandmother and asked her if she could accompany me to the audition. Of course she refused…but only because she didn’t know how to get to TAPE Productions!

Happy Valentines everyone!
Hi everyone! Happy Valentines! Here’s a treat for you guys…single and in a relationship. Remember the movie My Best Friend’s Wedding? It’s the movie with Julia Roberts who loved her best friend, Dermont Mulroney, very much. She was devastated to find out, that after being each other’s man and woman for a long time, he was going to get married to a girl he just met and knew for a week. Poor Julia Roberts; she did everything to try to stop the weeding from happening. Unfortunately, her best friend and the girl, Cameron Diaz, still got married. Now that it’s valentines, I wanted to give you guys a lovie lovie treat.

Matrix’ Bullet Time
Everyone can remember the word “Matrix.” Oh yes! It is the famous movie that revolutionized the action sci-fi thriller back in 1999. It is known for this great special effect called the “Bullet Time” wherein the characters and the things around them slowly move.
Of course, we must give kudos to the ingenuity of the Japanese! Here is a clip of their version of a Matrix’s bullet time in a PING-PONG MATCH! WATCH away and be amazed! =P

6 feet of bubble gum!
Bubble gum all you can. By the time you finish the 6 feet of gum, your jaw is probably numb. But what I really enjoyed with this was the packaging. Getting your gum from a dispenser was really cool then. Hehe

The Wakefield Twins
Who can forget Elizabeth and Jessica of Sweet Valley? The series that ‘grew up’ with us. Im pretty sure we all started from reading the Sweet Valley Kids series then we moved to Sweet Valley Twins..and until we were old enough to read the Sweet Valley University.

For a list of the different titles for each series, check out http://thebookliberationproject.wordpress.com/collections-backlists/sweet-valley-created-by-francine-pascal/

Games in the Streets (Larong Kalye)
Translated to Filipino, this means ‘Larong Kalye’. I always played ‘Langit-Lupa’, ‘MonkeyMonkey’ (Tag), ‘Piko’ (hopscotch), ‘Patintero’, and ‘Taguan’ (Hide and Seek) . I loved drawing on the street using chalk. I would bicker with my playmates because they would always try to grab my chalk from me but eventually we will all make up because we have to pick kids for the teams in the games.

I would always sneak out of the house so that I could play with the neighborhood kids. It was fun, really–the sweating, the laughing, the ‘pikunan’ and the bullying. After everyone’s nicely exhausted, some kids would take out their new toys on the street, the yayas will go after their ‘alaga’ and chase them with Johnson’s Baby Powder (ayan, product placement!).
We always go to someone’s house for merienda after playing (a glass of Eight o’clock juice and mamon to be exact). I’ll sneak back in my house safely with our house helpers pretending that nothing happened.
So how fun was your Larong Kalye days?

It’s all in the MAGIC!

Guys! Remember this?
Well, if you don’t remember. This was a tv series called Sabrina the Teenage Witch,
starring Melissa Joan Hart as Sabrina Spellman. She lived with 2 of her aunts, who were also witches. She had a black cat, Salem, which can speak. Sabrina’s best friend was Valerie. Then Sabrina liked Harvey and she was enemies with Libby. I don’t know if the boys watched this, but when we were teens, we used to watch this!

Batibot: The Morning Ritual
Who would forget the show Batibot?! Back then, my day would not be complete without being able to watch the show. It reminds you of Sesame Street, pero at the same time, its has something that’s entirely different…something Pinoy. It helps the child learn more than just the usual ABC and 123, but also the values of Filipino culture. This show helped the 90s kid become who they are now! Di ba?! Talaga naman this show made a huge impact on your childhood (or you can deny to death if you want). Aminin!
Here’s the theme song:

Pagmulat ng mata,
Langit nakatawa
Sa batibot,
Sa batibot
Tayo nang magpunta
Tuklasin sa batibot
Ang tuwa, ang saya
Doon sa batibot
Tayo na, tayo na
Mga bata sa batibot
Maliksi, masigla. (2X)
Dali, sundan natin
Ang ngiti ng araw
Doon sa batibot (2X)
Tayo nang magpunta
Tuklasin sa batibot
Ang tuwa, ang saya
Doon sa batibot
Tayo na, tayo na
Mga bata sa batibot
Maliksi, masigla. (2X)
(Contest tayo, padamihan ng characters!)
