Masked Rider Black

Ask anyone from my age group about “Masked Rider Black”, I’ll bet that at least 75% have religiously watched or at least know or has heard about this metal hero. Oh Boy! I can still remember those days when I would rush my parents’ Sunday stroll at the old “Quad” (now known as Glorietta) so that I could watch my favorite Japanese metal hero named MASKED RIDER BLACK. Missing one episode of MRB was like missing the whole point of the week! Lots and lots of geeky boys like myself would wait the whole boring weeeeeeek to watch shows such as Masked Rider Black, Shaider Machine Man, Ultra Man, Masked Men, and a whole lot more Japanese hero shows!

Going back to this cool Japanese metal hero named “MRB”, who the hell wouldn’t want to be Masked Rider Black? With all his cool moves such as the “Rider punch” and the ultimate finishing move that no evil monster could survive; the “Rider kick”! Who would want to become MRB with his two incredibly envying battle motorcycles that have its mind of its own, the more popular one was named the “Rider buggy”. But if you ask me what I idolized or envied the most about being Masked Rider Black?? It would be his kick-ass entrance whenever he appears in front of the evil monsters! Thick clouds of smoke would blind the whole place of battle then our hero would slowly appear within the thick cloud of smoke with his Rider Stance! All this with a cool musical score playing along with the scene. This cool Black Japanese action hero totally rocks!!

It’s been a year since we’ve begun this blog. Wahoo! It’s time to bring back the love to the next batch of SEO experts, bloggers, and internet marketers! This year’s theme is more social-oriented. I guess this idea came from our professor who thinks that the Internet is more than an all-in-one medium that integrates […]

They were funky, overly large, and well cute.  The Pop Swatch was born in the 80’s but it got to Manila during the nineties. My cousin was obsessed with collecting all the straps that would match. We would always pass by Gift Gate in the Greenhills Shopping Arcade so that we would see the new […]
  • Oh Tokyo! October 29, 2007
The show’s goal was simple: to give the Pinoys an overview of the Japanese culture. We love it for the host’s flawless translation of Japanese to Filipino. It also helps that she speaks in a sing-song voice while she asks the Tokyo-dwellers about their day-to-day living. Sad to say, this show stopped airing in RJ […]

  • For kicks: Guess this 90s Telenovela October 27, 2007
The year was 1998 and we, as a nation, have just recovered from the Thalia telenovela avalanche. We needed a change of pace so here’s a soap whose heroine is a child. Her height is as tiny as her voice! I love her show-gum smile and lengthy lashes. The story was interesting in the beginning: […]
